"Enriching Lives and Bridging Communities through Art"
(Redwood City, CA November 13, 2002)
The Cultural Arts Network (CAN) Group -- presents a series of musical performances showcasing work of culturally diverse artists from the Americas and around the world. The series runs from November 22, 2002 to January 31, 2003.
The CAN Group is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the value of art in our community and encourage the artistic expression of individuals. Nancy Nakano, Executive Director for CAN Group, believes that art not only enriches lives but bridges different cultures and communities. CAN Group will promote performances and events and provide education outreach, workshops and mentorship programs for children and adults.

The Hawaiian Masters of The Slack Key brings together three generations of gifted musicians for an evening of infectious music and captivating storytelling. These great Slack Key guitarist's striking compositions and powerful interpretations of Hawaiian music and culture truly exude the 'spirit of aloha'.

Venues
The Foresters Hall
Built in 1913, the Foresters Hall was designed as a state of the art facility to serve the entire town as a Social, Fraternal & Civic Center for many groups. This landmark building was the place to be for Dance Parties, Weddings, Concerts, Conferences, etc. and it remains a visual and historic treasure today. Neoclassical columns, fourteen-foot high open truss ceilings, a maple dance floor with stage, kitchen facilities, lounge and bar with a liquor license, make this a unique facility with the capacity to hold 400 people for any indoor event.

The Little Fox
With completion of major restoration and renovation work that retained many Art Deco themes in the interior with an updated Gothic Revival exterior, the Little Fox is ready to re-join it's big brother the Fox Theatre as one of the "jewels" of Redwood City.
The restored Little Fox will the home of live stage performances including concerts, plays, film festivals, corporate and private parties, and special events. With a capacity to hold 240 people, the Little Fox offers an intimate venue for enjoying a wide range of gifted artists and entertainment.
The Little Fox is located in downtown Redwood City on Broadway between Middlefield Road and Hamilton Street. The Theatre is convenient to several nearby parking areas.
